Gretchen Sampson, CPA

Senior Director

Gretchen brings more than 25 years of real estate experience to Tassi and Company, where she leads the firm’s Property Management & Development team. In this capacity, Gretchen is responsible for the accounting and monthly reporting process for national commercial, development and consolidated clients. Additionally, she routinely interfaces with the firm’s Tax Services team to optimize the tax workflow and coordinate the preparation, review and filing of tax returns. Gretchen also plays an active role with the firm’s Fund & Partnership Accounting team, collaborating with colleagues in the preparation of annual audits and GAAP/NCREIF PREA reporting standards. 

Gretchen trains Tassi team members and client staff, providing ongoing support in establishing and maintaining effective accounting controls and procedures. She has led the implementation of various computer accounting systems and has experience with multiple software packages including Ultratax CS, Yardi, Sage (fka Timberline), MRI, People Soft, Skyline and QuickBooks.

Gretchen began her career in a midsize public accounting firm in Chicago working with clients in the manufacturing, construction and real estate sectors. Gretchen graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
